AGMFuchsia 'Mrs Popple', one of the most well-known hardy fuchsias, is a vigorous upright deciduous shrub with small dark green oval leaves. Dangling, bell-shaped flowers are produced over a long flowering period from June to October, first appearing as bright red buds, which then open to reveal red outer petals around dark purple inner sepals and long red anthers.
Like most fuchsias, 'Mrs Popple' will grow in full sun or partial shade, making it a useful plant for bringing colour into shady areas. It also works well as an informal hedge. It prefers a moist well drained soil and protection from strong winds.
