Description:
This is a very clever garden. Firstly they have the 'fashionable' purples and blues artfully integrated with bright yellows of a fantastic meadow planting area. I would never have thought it would work, but it just does. Next, all the plants are set in a typical urban landscape and would work in this environment. It is the details that impress (and make this a well-deserved gold). The tree are crab apple, which encourage forage, and, incidentally are pollution tolerant. Even the planting towards the back was well thought through; continuing the theme of forage, this area is dominated by a large purple and blue tree spinach. It looks great, yet still works with the overall theme. Oh, and it the garden was a haven for bees. You always see a lot at shows, but the blue and purple planting especially, seem to attract them. A very interesting garden indeed (I would just love to know the species that made up the meadow planting area!).
