Description:
Also known as Foxtail grass, this perennial has glossy green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. The flowerheads are fluffy, silver-pink and last over winter. It originates from the moist woodlands of central to east Asia and so will suceed in any moist soil. Cut back old foilage and flower spikes in early spring.
Calamagrostis brachytricha, or Korean feather reed grass, is a useful, clump-forming, upright grass with fluffy blue-silver plumes which echo the shades of the silver blue-green foliage. Equally happy in sun or part-shade, use mid-border to add a soft, airy look.
