Description:
"Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum' is a very attractive small tree or large shrub. The maple-like leaves look like small fans and are held horizontally, giving the tree a layered appearance. Young foliage is yellow-green, emerging from pinkish buds in spring. In summer the foliage becomes golden yellow, and then changes again to orange or red in autumn. Pink flowers are produced in spring, hanging below the emerging leaves.
