Description:
Happy sunshine yellow of these daisy-like faces are an indication that spring is well on its way- Ranunculus ficaria, or the common celandine has shiny petals, and heartshaped green leaves in small clumps. A wildflower, or a weed, as the small, egg-like tuberous roots multiply at an alarming rate-and therefore can be invasive. Commonly seen in moist verges in woodlands, garden borders, clay soil is loved by this perennial.
