Acer palmatum 'Higasayama' is one of the most striking cultivars available. The deeply divided maple leaves have heavily marked green veining outlined in cream, with the whole leaf edged in hot pink. The lobes of the leaves are slightly twisted, creating an eye-catching clawlike appearance. A beautifully shaped tree, ideal as a specimen plant. The leaves are bright red in autumn, maturing to maroon.

As with all Acer, best grown in partial shade in a sheltered position in neutral or acidic soil.
