Description:
Hamamelis mollis 'Coombe Wood', or Chinese witch hazel, is a handsome witch hazel that was originally introduced to Britain in 1879 by Charles Maries, and named after a nursery in Surrey. Bare branches in mid to late winter are brought alive with bright yellow flowers, petals are like lemon peel, or curled ribbons. Leaves are mid green, large, and rounded, which have great autumn colouring before falling, and being taken over by flowering into the early spring.
