Description:
Phlomis tuberosa 'Amazone' is an attention-grabbing perennial, with whorls of pink flowers at intervals along upright dark purple stems, standing out boldly against woolly, dark green leaves. The flowers are followed by attractive seedheads, and the effect of the dried seedheads and stems is impressive, especially when planted in drifts in a border. It likes a well-drained soil in full sun, and is drought tolerant once established. Ideal for cottage garden or Mediterranean-style planting, and also looks good with grasses.
