The genus Rosa includes over 100 different species of rose, such as shrubs, hybrid teas, floribundas and climbing roses. They are usually perennials, but some annuals are available. The stems can be woody in trees, climbers and shrubs, but in the lower growing herbacious varieties, this is usually softer. It is common for the plants to be everygreen.
