Description:
Macleaya microcarpa 'Spetchley Ruby' is a tall perennial with large, grey-green lobed leaves and upright stems bearing plumes of tiny reddish flowers in summer, which are followed by red seeds. Ideal for gardens where it can be given lots of space, it works well with grasses and adds vertical interest to a border. Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist, well drained soil. It may become invasive on sandy soils.
